ACT (A non-profit organization) announced the launch of the Mobile Film Festival this November, which opposes violence against women by casting light on their sufferings and documenting them by mobile phones.

In ACT’s pronouncement, they referred to the 25th of January revolution in which mobiles were of great significance.

Act added in the press release “If it had not been for mobiles, we would not have documented these violations, and that was the main reason to launch this festival!

Thus, Act in partnership with the United Nations for Women, launched this cinematic event headed by the Cinematographer and the former Head of National cinema center Mr.Kamal Abd El Aziz.

The festival includes series of events, First and foremost, the competition of the best movie made by smart phone, either feature film or documentary, with duration of not more than 15 minutes, not produced before 2014.

Noting that, the Movies Submitting date starts from 15th October till the deadline on 15th November

The festival’s management also announced the names of the jury which consists of 5 main members as follows:

The critic Mohamed El Rouby, president of jury

Script writer Mariam Naoom

Journalist and critic Nahed Salah

The critic Soheir Fahmy

The critic Ahmed Shawky

The admission of movies are either on unlocked CD or DVD, not on a flash memory attached with an application form as a request to join the competition.
